Chase The Blues - 2008

Chase the Blues is a private benefit dance party hosted by John and Toby Nady and the Chase the Blues Committee to benefit Children's Hospital Oakland. Last year's party was such a hit, the Chase the Blues committee is promising an even better event this year-still cool and casual.

Thank you to everyone who helped Chase the Blues raise over $240,000 in 2007!

We're doing it AGAIN! May 3rd, 2008 The Sixth Annual Chase The Blues party. This year we're shooting for bigger stars, bigger prizes, and of course, bigger donations.

Help us reach our goal of raising $1 MILLION for Children's Hospital over our first six years!

Join us for an evening of Chasing the Blues while supporting our medical professionals and critical care programs at Children's Hospital Oakland. Put on your blue jeans and dance to live rhythm and blues music, taste hors d'oeuvres from outstanding local caterers and restaurants, and bid on amazing auction items. Proceeds benefit the hospital's emergency department and trauma services.

Proceeds from the past five years of Chase the Blues have totaled over $715,000 and funded the purchase of much-needed equipment for Children's Hospital Oakland. Help us make an even bigger difference in 2008 and reach our million-dollar goal!

Summary of Chase the Blues's success:
Volume One: $55,961 -- used for emergency room equipment
Volume Two: $91,951 -- used for physician professional development
Volume Three: $141,909 -- used for ICU equipment such as ventilators, temp monitors, brain activity monitors
Volume Four: $182,785 -- used for equipment for anesthesia department such as lead aprons, new airway equipment, laproscopic instruments, headlights with light sources for surgeons, transport monitor, an ultrasound system and a wheelchair scale
Volume Five: $243,259 -- used for rehab department to buy items such as new wheelchairs and anatomic models, as well as a new ultrasound for the ER department; only 8 percent of earnings used for administrative expenses.
